Yellow Creek Falls

Yellow Creek Falls

Where? This is 15 minutes from Noccalula Falls, on Weiss Lake in the town of Cedar Bluff, AL 35959. Put Yellow Creek Fish Camp into maps on your phone and this will get you there. Once you get to Yellow Creek Fish Camp, you will follow rd 365 around as far as it will take you (less than half mile) and park on the gravel that IS NOT marked private property. You will hear/see the falls before you get to this point. There is a well worn path to follow to the falls.

Trail Length? This trail is extremely short, maybe 1/4 mile in length.

How hard are we talkin’? It’s pretty easy, but if it’s raining, the ground near the falls gets very muddy and there is no traction. There are several areas you want to climb and mud makes this difficult. Go when it’s dry or bring spikes. When it’s dry, there are no issues. You can climb all over the place. I wouldn’t wear flip flops for this one no matter the time of year.

Can I swim there? People do, but I have not personally. It is a good place to take a boat. You have to put in at the public launch though. It’s in an obvious spot where you turn on 365.

Any other details? Please be sure to be courteous of land owners who do not want others on their property. People do bring dogs, but please keep them on a leash.

Leave no trace: As with most waterfalls, the streams feeding them pick up their fair share of trash, so please take your belongings with you. Consider grabbing a few cans on your way out.
